Knitted wrist warmers are the perfect accessories for autumn.
Knitted wrist warmers are the perfect accessories for autumn.
This pattern is inspired by the red, green, and white beaded wristwarmers made by Lithuanian knitters in the 19th century.
This is the month of finishing my Lithuanian knitting book! I’ve made a list of what needs to be done and hired a professional nagger to help me break it into doable daily chunks. It’s so close, I can taste it. And I’m not doing anything else until it’s finished.
In the workshop we learned that wristers can be made with a single color of yarn or stripes, with contrasting beads all of one color. White beads were the most popular in Lithuania.
These wrist warmers are inspired by Lithuanian beaded wristers that I saw on BritKnitCast website, hosted Carrie Anne Dennison, who attended Woolfest last year.
