Tununak Gaiter Cowl Pattern

This cowl is knit in a lace pattern that reminds me of the patterning on a grass basket made by a Yup’ik artisan in Tununak, Alaska. The bottom portion looks like flowers growing in a spring field, and the top portion is a simple eyelets and garter ridges that is reminiscent of the woven basket pattern. This is made with super-bulky yarn so it’s super-quick to knit. It’s also incredibly soft and warm with easy care made in this superwash merino yarn.
