Raupen Wrap Chart B

Hi there. Several of you have emailed me about problems with chart B for the Raupen Wrap. I’m sorry for the confusion. On the enlarged version we printed and inserted into the booklets, the repeat box did not show up. This is what Chart B should look like and how you work the second repeat, which is where the questions are coming up.

And here’s some extra help for reading across the chart rows.

This is a summary of how the second repeat of Chart B goes:

  • Work garter edge.
  • Starting at the edge of Chart B, work across the row to the red box.
  • Work the stitches in the red box.
  • When you get to the end of the red box, go back to the beginning of the red box and do it again.
  • Work stitches that come after the red box, ending at the other edge of Chart B.
  • Work centre garter column.
  • Starting at the edge of Chart B, work across the row to the red box.
  • Work the stitches in the red box.
  • When you get the end of the red box, go back to the beginning of the red box and do it again.
  • Work the stitches that come after the red box, ending at the other edge of Chart B.
  • Work garter edge.
For example, the first row of the second repeat of Chart B goes like this:
  • Knit 4 for garter edge
  • Ignore stitches 1 & 2 of row 1 of Chart B (they are grey because there is no stitch there until later in the chart)
  • Work stitches 3-15 of row 1 of Chart B (this is what comes before the red box)
  • Work stitches 16-29 of row 1 of Chart B (this is what is in the red box)
  • Work stitches 16-29 of row 1 of Chart B again (repeat the red box)
  • Work stitches 30-39 of row 1 of Chart B (this is what comes after the red box)
  • Ignore stitches 40 & 41 of row 1 of Chart B (they are grey because there is no stitch there until later in the chart)
  • Knit 4 for centre garter column
  • Knit 4 for garter edge

  1. I am trying to start the Beaded Eggs And Buds Row 1. I have 110 stitches on needle. I have K4, sm, worked Chart C(yo, k1, yo), pm, k3. Then I understand to K2, bead-1, k1). Across to k3,pm, Chart C, sm, K4 having increased 4 stitches.(114). When I do the k2, bead-1, k1 I do not have enough stitches to complete the sequence. I end up with 2 stitches left – not enough to complete the group. What have I done wrong?

    Me again,
    Teresa Uzzle
