Welcome to Craftivism Camp

Welcome to Craftivism Camp 2Welcome to Craftivism Camp 2018, hosted by Donna Druchunas & Heather Marano. We’re so glad you’re here. This week we’ll be welcoming you to the course and getting started with an overview of how everything will work.

After that you’ll have a new lesson every week. Those will include a knitting project and a background lesson from each of us, followed by our joint suggestions for using knitting as a political act and making craftivism and activism a regular part of your life. Let’s all continue making the resistance on our own and in groups moving forward.

Knit on with confidence and hope through all crises.

  1. I live in a deep red state and knit for progressive causes to maintain a degree of hope.

  2. Is this course mostly knitting/fiber arts focused? I’m a papercrafter.

  3. I am excited about this class!

  4. I am interested in saving our environment (and national Parks of course) and saving lives through common sense gun legislation. I also would like a Giant Blue Wave to take over for awhile! I am in several groups that I think might join in on the “right” craft if I could just figure out what it could be.

    • Hi Bev. Yeah, without a planet to live on, the rest isn’t that important, is it? What kinds of crafting do you do?

      • I’m a quilter and that is my main focus, however I also knit and crochet. I like to dabble in other crafts but i do a lot more thinking about projects than actually making things!
