Free Pattern: Resistance Hat

Resist Hat Resist racism, resist xenophobia, resist sexism, resist hate of all kinds. Wear this hat to proclaim that we are the resistance! The diagonal motif is based on the American symbol for a resistor in electronics. This can go in the St st portion of Pussyhats … or you can make a plain hat with this motif (pattern below). If you make a hat using this pattern, I’d love to get a photo. Thanks and enjoy! This is now also available as a free PDF download on Ravelry.   Size To fit an adult human 20 in (51cm) circumference, will stretch to fit head several inches larger   Materials Worsted weight yarn, 2 colors: approx 200 yds (190m) of MC and 25 yds (20m) of CC 5 sts/in in St st Size 7 US (4.5mm) ndls to work in the round.   Instructions With MC, CO 100 sts. 2. Hi Donna, I love this pattern and made two. I would like to send pictures but don’t know how to upload them here. I have made 30 hats and this by far was my favorite. Thanks. Maryann

  3. Look forward to crochet pattern
Nice to know I’m not the only one!

  4. Thank you for this great pattern , I’m really interested in trying it. I am a little confused about the text knitting chart, are the first 12 stitches of each row done in main color? Also the mentioned rep stitches to be knit five times are they stitches 13 thru 25? Then the stitches of 25-52 are knit once and the next row should begin with the first twelve stitches in the main color again. Thanks for your help.

  5. I have some books, I have some patterns- I want to find some 4-ply patterns for the ‘pussy-hats’ to knit for myself, my friends & my granddaughters.
I live in Canada-but unfortunately, DJ Trump’s ignorance will be felt around the world.

    • To make the pussyhat I have used all weights of yarn . I followed the pattern online only one and it was huge so I came up with one .Depending on the weight cast on 44-54 on circular knitting needles size to match the yarn.Work knit 2 purl 2 rib for 4 inches, stockinette stitch till piece measures 10 inches.I do a 3 needle bind off wrong sides together,to “sew”the top closed .The ears are formed when it is on your head. Good luck and knit the resistance on

  6. Any way to convert this to a crochet pattern?
