Lodging starts at $130 per night (4 nights) double occupancy. Please be aware you must stay at Highland Lodge to attend this retreat. 9% Tax & gratuities not included.

Meals

Breakfasts are included with Highland Lodge reservation.
Dinner and  lunches are on your own. Restaurant & Bar is on site. Other restaurants are a 25-30 minute drive.

Schedule

Thursday
2-5 PM check in
Arrival and settle in at the Highland Lodge
5-6 PM – Meet & greet in the living room.
6-7:30 pm – Dinner on your own.
8-9:30 PM – Relax and knit with the group or spend time on your own to get ready for tomorrow’s classes.

Friday
7:30 AM – 9 AM – Breakfast in the main dining room.
10 AM – 12 Noon – Morning workshop session: Morning workshop session: History of knitting in Scotland slide show. Different ways to cast on for a triangular shawl. Cast on for your project.
12 Noon – 2 PM – Lunch on your own.
2 PM – 5 PM – Afternoon workshop session: Different ways to shape triangular shawls. Begin knitting and shaping on your project
Break
6 PM – 7:30 PM – Lodge restaurant is open for dinner. Sit with the group or on your own.
8 PM – 9:30 PM – Knit with others in the living room or retire to your room to relax.

Saturday
7:30 AM – 9 AM – Breakfast in the main dining room.
10 AM – 12 Noon – Morning workshop session: Learn the pattern stitches for your shawl. Continue knitting to the main body of your shawl.
12 Noon – 2 PM – Lunch on your own.
2 PM – 5 PM – Possible Afternoon excursion to Ball and Skein studio.
Break
6 PM – 7:30 PM – Lodge restaurant is open for dinner. Sit with the group or on your own.
8 PM – 9:30 PM – Knit with others in the living room or retire to your room to relax.

Sunday
7:30 AM – 9 AM – Breakfast in the main dining room.
10 AM – 12 Noon – Morning workshop session: Learn how to work an attached border for your project. Begin knitting.
12 Noon – 2 PM – Lunch on your own.
2 PM – 5 PM – Possible Afternoon excursion to Cloverworks Farm.
Break
6 PM – 7:30 PM – Dinner on your own.
8 PM – 9:30 PM – Final Q&A session & show & tell with Donna Druchunas.

Monday
7:30 AM – 9 AM – Breakfast in the main dining room.
Checkout is 11 AM. Depart the lodge for a day or tourism or you can head home if needed. If you need an extra day at the lodge, please notify staff at reservation time.

Your teacher will be on-site and will be available for questions anytime.
Schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. We reserve the right to bring in a substitute teacher if needed.

Amtrak stops in Waterbury, Burlington and Montpelier Vermont, each about two hours away by car.

At this time we can not provide transportation to and from the Airport or Train stations.

Workshop fees & deposits:

$435 (USD) Includes handouts, misc supplies, knitting surprises, yarn, mailings, teacher fees, door prizes, and use of the facilities.

* Highland Lodge reservation is paid separately from your workshop fee.
* Balance due ($260) 6 weeks before retreat starts on or before Sept. 1st, 2019
* Limited to 15 people, 1 teacher
* Workshop deposits are transferable & DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
* If you cancel, you are responsible for filling your spot for this retreat.
* Your deposit is transferable to another knitter. We do have waiting lists sometimes to fill your spot.
* If we fill your spot (from our waiting list or you fill your spot), before Sept 1st, 2018, we will refund your deposit.
No deposits will be refunded after Sept 1st, 2019
** In the unfortunate event that Sheep to Shawl should have to cancel a class for any reason, all fees, including deposits, will be fully refunded in a reasonable time. We reserve the right to include a substitute teacher in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

***The costs of any travel arrangements you may have made will not be reimbursed.
Please be sure you know your cancellation fees for your airlines or lodging.

Lodging Reservations

* Lodging starts at $130 per night. Price is the same for single or double occupancy plus 9% room tax.
* Rooms, suites, & all season cabins available.
* Deposits for lodging will be collected April 2019. Deposits are 1/2 of total reservation.
* You will be emailed or called in April 2019 for deposit from Highland Lodge.
* Sharing a room with other knitters is available. Split the costs.
* All season cabins are great for a large family or for several knitters.
* Non-knitters are welcome to stay in your room. They just can’t attend the workshop.
* Non-knitters are welcome to attend the afternoon excursions and Sunday farewell show & tell.
* Select your room/cabin at time of workshop deposit.
