Mind of Winter

http://www.mindofwinter.prettyposies.com/
MindofWinter is a blog that journals my knitting, spinning, and other fiber endeavors, and  occasionally covers other areas like travel and literature.  I keep the blog as a hobby and also do some knitwear designing  on the side.  I offer free patterns on the blog, and I've been published in Knitty and Magknits, and most recently in print in Suzan Mischer's book Greetings from Knit Cafe.  I've taught knitting in DC and LA, and really enjoy bringing new people into the craft.  I love books that delve into the history of knitting, and showcase pieces and techniques from different regions of the world, so Artic Lace is a much anticipated read.  Plus how can someone with a mind of winter not be interested in arctic lace?

Tales of a Keyboard Biologist

http://www.keyboardbiologist.net/knitblog/
Theresa, an immunologist, turned computer scientist, turned small company manager living in Chicago, learned to knit in 1995 from a good friend who encouraged her to jump in and try everything and not worry about how difficult it looked or general difficulty ratings. She started her blog, Tales from a Keyboard Biologist in 2002 as an outlet to discuss her re-discovery of knitting and to keep a journal of her projects. She's been involved in starting the ChicKnits Knit in Public group, hosted one of the very first group blogs to support a knit-a-long (for the Audrey sweater in the Spring, 2004 Rowan magazine) and has recently been enjoying developing a line of handknit sock patterns and encouraging knitters to get involved in the Red Scarf Project. When she's not knitting or collecting knitting books, she can be found spinning, exploring new restaurants in Chicago and occasionally trying to put together a few lines of Perl code.
