25 Alene and Cindy at Knit-N-Spinnin' Kitten blog
We have been writing the blog since June 2007 although we have been friends since freshman year in high school, too long ago to remember. Cindy has been knitting and crocheting for most of that time while I just learned how to knit in 2005. Last spring we decided to do a long distance spinning project (ala Spin-off) but first I needed to learn how to spin. The blog is designed to chronicle our cross-country discussions about our crafting lives. I took the name for the blog from my cat, Margaret, who loves to ply with knitting and spins after string tied on her tail.
Alene kicked off the tour by making the Felted Mouse and the Doorknob Toy from Kitty Knits. She's got some pictures of the unfelted items and a shot of her kitty, Margi, checking out the book and the unfelted pieces of the doorknob toy.
26 Carol Metzger at Carol's Experiments in Textiles
Knitting and textile adventures, commentary -- and it all started out as
just a way to not be anonymous on You Knit What?? My time is now filled with elder care, but I will be back. Meanwhile, Donna is keeping this blog alive for me
Carol explained why knitting sweaters for cats may not be a good idea!
27 Carol Sulcoski at Go Knit In Your Hat
Home of the No-Bull Book Review, GKIYH provides honest and irreverent commentary on knitting, life, and whatever else occurs to me. You'll also get peeks into the world of Black Bunny Fibers, my indie handpainted yarn and fiber business.
Carol interviews me and we chat about my first cats and life with cats and yarn.
28 Prudence at KnitMe
Knitting and spinning from Prudence, Sam, Melanie, and Jan. With left-leaning political sidebar contents.
Prudence interviewed me about needlefelting (and alternatives), cats and fiber, selecting yarns for designs in books, and more.
29 Karen & Pearl at Pearl the Diabetic Cat: A Journey in Patience
A blog intended to help people whose cats have been diagnosed with Feline Diabetes to find support and information on how to handle the disease. It's Pearl's blog, and while it does not have tons of entries, I try to make what we put in information a newly diagnosed pet parent can use. It is a very overwhelming diagnosis and more and more common. People need to know it is not a death sentence.
I visited Pearl the Diabetic cat to talk about all things kitty and knitty. You also get to see some photos of Pearl, and of my cats helping out with a photo shoot. They didn't get to be the kitty models in the book, but they had fun anyway.

1 Deborah Robson at The Independent Stitch
On writing, publishing, knitting, spinning, and other independent (but often collaborative) pursuits.
Deb's made some mice, talks about color in printing and why she wasn't the right publisher for Kitty Knits, and she also has pictures of her cat and -- yikes! -- dog.
2 Bella Turek at Knitsabella Knits
Knitsabella Knits, the title pretty much says it all. I've knit from childhood, and I have always loved to write, but it never hit me to put the two together until recently. The blog is my sounding board, my place to make new knitting friends, my gallery (for knitting, family, cat, and dog alike) and my attempt at providing a small corner of the world with laughs.
Another interview and lots of pictures of Felix.
3 Eileen Dobek at Purling Kitty: A day in the life of a wannabe knitter
My blog is about my life. It is mainly about my knitting escapades. I also talk about my personal life i.e. my husband, my cats, and my job.
Eileen wrote about projects she plans to make and what she expects to learn from each one, and included some great photos, including one of her cat posing with the book.
4 Laiane at It's Furious Balancing
I'm a very introverted person, so I use the blog as a way to communicate with my friends and family (and online knitters and gamers) about "What's going on with Laiane." For the most part, "What's going on with Laiane" means I write about my knitting, and my cats, and my reactions to the various absurdities I see in the world. I occasionally get on my soapbox about grammar, computer games, the glory that is the Internet, and literature -- but not necessarily all in the same post. I am utterly addicted to LOLCats and have a "LOLCat Friday" post every week.
Laiane tackles The Cat Afghan project. You can see a photo of my finished verison, and her work in progress, along with some great kitty shots.
5 Kozy Kitty at Crazy Cat Lady's Musings
On my blog, I share my fiber projects--knitting and some sewing, some family news and always kitty news. Sometimes I include patterns, techniques and recipes as well. A regular feature of each post is the Kitty Cam. With 4 cats, there is never a shortage of feline shenanigans!
Kozy Kitty featured some sketches by Susan McBride that I converted into charts for the projects in Kitty Knits as part of another interview.
6 Rebecca at Wanderings
Wandering around, knitting, learning fiber arts, crazy animals, and just whatever else comes my way.
Check out Rebecca's review of Kitty Knits, to find out what a cat-loving knitter thinks about the book, and another lovely cat photo.
7 Michelle at Turtle Lover Knits
While primarily a knitting blog, I also discuss my ongoing mid-life crisis which involves switching careers and a secret life as a sequined ballroom dancer. Of course, the kitties make appearances as well, usually doing something with yarn/knitting they shouldn't be.
Michelle has made a felted cat bed and some felted mice, but her kitty didn't want to wait for the bed to be felted to try it out.

8 Leanne Dyck at Designer's Note
Knitwear designer, author Leanne Dyck shares news, views, tips, and techniques
Leanne has some great kitty photos, and compares Kitty Knits to the state of her life. Specifically, that cats own people, as every cat (and "cat owner") knows very well.

9 Mitchypoo at Knitting and Losing
My blog is mainly about my knitting and crafts, my life and my weightloss journey. It's personal and I try to be uplifting and positive.
Mitchypoo has a review of Kitty Knits, along with her thoughts about cats and knitting and some great photos. I especially love the nerd-cat Henry!
10 Stacy Elmer at this that and the other
It's my place to showcase my many crafts, show off my cats, post funnies and anything else I might want to share, it also keeps people informed about things going on in my life that they might want to know about. It also helps me keep track of things and also to vent a little when needed. So it's a little of this, a little of that, and some of the other.
Stacy has another interview in which we discuss how I learned to knit, other crafts, UFOs (the knitting kind), and -- surprise! -- cats & knitting!
11 Jadielady at Jadielady's Thoughts
My blog is a combo of personal daily life, my knitting, talking about my cat (or sometimes my parents'), and reviews of podcasts (which have taken a decidedly knit-related turn since I started hehe).
Jadielady has some pictures of felted mice along with notes about her experiences making them -- especially the i-cord tail and bobble ears--, and she also talks about her kitties' reactions.
12 Denise B. at Nana and the Cats
A place where I talk about my life, my knitting and the adventures of my cats. I'm an Army retiree trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my life. The cats are girls Saucey 7 and Zelda 2 who are both tuxedo cats.
Denise interviewed me about how I decided what to include in Kitty Knits, especailly the poems, how publishers and authors decide what projects to include in each book, the ins and outs of knitting socks, and other things
13 Tracy Philpot at tracylovesdevons
On my blog I write about cats I now own, devon rex and oriental shorthairs, as well as cats I have bred and shown. I also write about knitting. Occasionally the two obsessions meet in a collision course of stylin' knitted wear for cats. I already make them hand-knit catnip stuffed won-tons and burritos (when I get carried away), and baby sweaters (if the kittens have to be shipped to their new homes) and sweaters for the adults so that we can wear matching outfits. I don't think this sounds desperate at all....it's just life in rural Alaska.
Tracy made a fantastic version of the Colorwork Chullo and the Hidden Cat Scarf, and you can see a photo of her work in progress and read about that adventure here.
14 HRH Dani at Queen of Socks
Nothing but the best for our monumental feet.... and the royal felines.
The tour stopped by to visit Dani at Queen of Socks where you can read about several of the cat toys as well as the Cat Ear Hat.
15 Ladylungdoc at Purl This!
It always seems like a good idea at the time...Purl This! is a knitting blog which features the adventures, musings and occasional rants of Ladylungdoc. She's a knitter who doctors in order to a) keep her cats Someset and Greedo in the style to which they have become accustomed, b) support her yarn habit, c) gain an appreciation for a good night's sleep, and d) sharpen her wit.
Greedo and Somerset had a few questions for me (with a little translation help from their human, Ladylungdoc). Ladylungdoc also made the Kitty place mat, which features a Fair Isle goldfish design and felting, and she substituted pretty embroidery for the crochet trim I used on my version.
16 Kim at Knit-Tea Kitty
A blog about my knitting, tea,my cats and whatever else I might be thinking about. There are links to sites/blogs I like that touch on knitting, cats, my faith, and tea, my favorite drink! I post about current projects, fun things my family and kitties are doing, with some pictures. I also have some book info up-what I'm reading, etc.
Kim is delayed at putting up her blog tour post, but she's got some preliminary photos of a catnip mouse she's made. I'll post an updated link later.
17 Theresa Walunas at The Keyboard Biologist Knits
The knitting and crafting adventures of an immunologist turned computer scientist living in Chicago. With guest appearances by a new baby girl and two wonderful cats.
Theresa posted a review of Kitty Knits, along with some fun photos of her kitties playing with the catnip mice.
18 Turtlegirl76 at Turtlegirl's Bloggy Thing
A blog of a knitter and spinner who has a thing for turtles, some really cute cats, and an obsession with yarn.
Turtlegirl76 interviewed me, and we talked about my current knitting projects, the different kinds of books I write, and tips for getting gauge in colorwork projects. She also included a short review:
19 Rina Rahardjo at Rahardjo-Knits
Brief description It's about my fiber related journey and some other crafts like origami, bookmaking and boxmaking.
Rina recently had surgery. She's now recovering and feeling better, but I'm not sure if she'll be able to post. Please send her good thoughts and well wishes, because we all know that life and health are more important than knitting!
